Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 July 2026
Plain summary: We only process what's needed to deliver your WhatsApp order notifications — mainly recipient phone numbers and the message text. We don't sell your data, and nothing is processed until you link a WhatsApp account.

1. Who we are

This policy explains how Textbari (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Textbari WhatsApp order-notification service and the “Order Notifications for WhatsApp” plugin (the “Service”). For your own customers, your store is the data controller and Textbari acts as a processor that relays messages on your instruction.

2. When we receive data

The plugin does not send us anything on a fresh install. Data is only transmitted after you explicitly link a WhatsApp account (by scanning a QR code) and when order notifications are triggered.

3. What we process

DataPurpose
A store identifier generated by the pluginTo associate your linked WhatsApp session with your store
Your linked WhatsApp session credentialsTo keep your WhatsApp connection alive so messages can be sent
Recipient phone numbersTo deliver the notification to the right person
Message content (which may include order details you place in templates)To deliver the notification text
Delivery status and timestampsTo show you a message log and retry failed sends

We do not receive WordPress usernames, passwords, payment card data, or unrelated site content.

4. What we do not do

5. WhatsApp / Meta

Messages are ultimately delivered over WhatsApp's network, which is operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. Their handling of message data is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy. Textbari is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.

6. Retention

Message logs are retained for a limited period to support delivery, retries and troubleshooting, and are then removed. You can also delete your data by unlinking your WhatsApp account and uninstalling the plugin (with the “delete data on uninstall” option enabled).

7. Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your and your customers' rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (for example under the GDPR), individuals may have rights to access, correct, or delete their personal data. Because your store is the controller of your customers' data, such requests should be directed to you; we will assist you as a processor where required.

9. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for having a lawful basis to message your customers, for disclosing this processing in your own privacy policy, and for honouring opt-out requests.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date reflects the latest version.
